A Texas native, a Virginia transplant-- Krystal Blackmouth is slowly becoming a character of New York. Prompted to move up to the Catskills for its easy convenience to NYC and the chill relax factor of the mountains. Her art had always been contained to sketchbooks but after being pushed by her dearest friend she committed to more “Finished” works. She produces pieces that are honest expressions, freely laid into the canvas(or paper) with little thought of contingency. While it is difficult to see the consistency at times Krystal believes that if Nature isn’t consistent why should she expect the same out of herself. She has a love for the old masters and adoration for her fellow rising artists, she's states "They're always honest and truthful with their art, there is no regard for the opinion of others. They create from themselves for themselves. I can't help but admire that."

PAINTINGS BY Krystal Blackmouth & Sean Willett
I am primarily interested in building objective forms and concepts through fortuitous, subconscious creation. My work is highly process-driven and is tied into the relationship of different patterns and colors. Impasto technique, iridescence and sometimes found-objects are incorporated. My life is the subject matter.
With my work, I try to use a modern aesthetic with a message of vitality and inter connectivity to speak of our global family, as well as my own fingerprint of individuality and the subjective experience. I also intend for my art to be meditative like mandalas. Most importantly to my oeuvre is an overall impression of positivity and the infinite.
